Carburator Question
Has anyone heard of the KIPA Carb supposed to be engineered for better response and idle to replace the Carter YF type D5TZ9510AG.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you, Alex
A couple of guys on here reported they worked well.
I'm contemplating ordering one is why I ask.
Thanks
Randy
I to was looking around for a new carb as mine has slop in the shaft as the body is worn out and probably leaking vacuum.
Still starts and runs good but needs replacing.
I was looking around and found this KIPA advertised and was looking for someone that had used one and could supply feedback.
Still looking for feedback....
Check it out and see what you think..
IIRC the accel pump got a split in it and would not pump.
He took one from old carb, he rebuilt it but had a worn body also, and has been good since.
I have not installed mine as the one on the truck is still working so it sits on the shelf.

You are a knowledgeable poster so I have a request:
When you have time will you please check out the KIPA website for us and let me know what you think.
Not having too much knowledge on carbs, I would like to know your thoughts as if these are BS or something I might try...
Thank you,

Thanks for the reply.
I cannot find the actual page I was reading about the engineering on this KIPA Carb.
I was looking for a replacement of my Carter and guess I went down one of those Interweb Rabbit holes???
I did go to Amazon and typed in KIPA carburetor 300 6 and some info came up. (better response, mileage, and stuff, Same kind of info I was reading before.
If you don't have time to look it up I understand, I am sorry for not being a interweb guru but I did try.
Thank you again for the response and your time.

I think I will try it to see how it works.
Just so much junk out there I have been looking around for a while and read the part where this carb was supposed to be improved from the original Carter.
Maybe all BS BS but for around 90.00 and not much of a PITA to change I will try it..
Thank you again for your help..

Can you get a bad one? Why yes but that can happen with anything.
We just got a new washer & dryer and think the washer is junk and the dryer dose dry but gives a error msg, vent plugged, every time you use it, its being replaced wish they replace the washer!
I think there was free return on the carb or maybe it was the other I looked at?
As said I dont know who I got mine from and have not used it as mine is still working but the price was right at the time.
Only 1 member out of like 4 of us had an issue and he was able to use a good part from the bad carb and been working great since.
Let us know how you make out.

It's a bit different than the OEM carb but it fit OK.
Vacuum advance port was capped but blind, I had to drill it out.
Not enough clearance for one stud, it was touching the carb
It would have busted the carb if I had tightened the nut down.
Luckily I had a shorter stud on hand so that didn't end up being an issue.
It started right up and idled well but seems lazy when revving the Engine.
I only drove it around the yard so far but no stalling etc.
Hopefully I'll be able to go for a drive soon.
Thanks
Randy
Well I said I would give you an update on the KIPA carb.
It arrived and was very well packaged. Heavy cardboard, stiff pre formed foam.
All the body and parts seemed well fit and looked nice.
Had the KIPA on the side.
After using the stare and compare method,,,, Noticed there was no vacuum advance port or fitting.
Also, no fitting by the fuel bowl for the hose from the charcoal cannister.
Went back to see if there was another KIPA with the needed ports but could not find one.
Bottom line is if the ports would have been there I would have installed it and been driving.
Looked very well built.
Now I am going to JY to fine a carb to rebuild .
Thank you for your input..
Alex
