I bet this is part of some of my issues. I have that carb but I have a 55. Is there a different carb normally for my engine?
Abe, can you tell us how much you spent to have Cowboy John rebuild yours?
I paid $240 a few years ago with shipping. Not sure what he's up to now, but he responds quickly to email!

Your truck would have come with a EBV-9510-H, which externally looks the same but would have larger venturis (1-1/16" vs 15/16"). There were other improvements as well. (I assume your truck has a 239 OHV). Better to have yours rebuilt, IMO.

Thanks. I will plan on doing that this winter when I won't be driving much.
Joe, I bought a rebuilt car from Cowboy John. And I don't remember the cost . You could call him and ask. He will take your old one as a core and put money back on your card. I kept my old one.

I just got to thinking. Is there a way to tell between the two besides the venturis size.?
New carb installed in 20 minutes, started right up. I adjusted the idle speed and drove it, smooth throttle response, plenty of power.
Hey Bob, Glad to hear the new carb works well, and I'm sure Charlie's rebuilt card will be good also.
Not to change the subject. But I remember a few weeks back you were having generator/voltage regulator issues and if I remember correctly they tested your generator and then re-adjusted your voltage regulator. Did the re-adjusted voltage regulator solve your charging issue? Or is it too early to tell so far?

The p/n should be stamped into the bowl, or sometimes it will have "1-1/16" cast into the bowl. If you take the carb off, you can measure the throttle bores. There's quite a difference between the Y-block carbs and 94's. Most rebuild kits come with the gaskets for both, see below. Y-Block gasket on a 94 base.

You’re correct, I had charging issues last fall. One night the wife and I went to dinner and had to push start it to get home.
I replaced the brushes, and he generator shop adjusted the regulator. It’s charging fine now, however the halogen headlights draw more power than the generator can supply, 7-8A, so it discharges unless you’re running 30th or more. I ordered some LED headlights that draw only 800ma. That should solve that problem.
I could go back to the stock headlights, but at 71 I’m getting night blind, so I need all the help I can get.

Sounds great Bob!
Let me know how you like the LEDs as I might do the same.
Thank you!
