Rebuilt Carb Brand

I'm looking for a rebuilt carb for my '70 300.
Which brand do you guys recommend? Looks like Autozone has United, National, and Autoline.

Thanks!

I used a Carter YF rebuilt acquired from Rock Auto. Worked and is working fine. Pricing was OK and at the time last year finding a rebuilt carb was not all that easy - napa was weeks out, etc.

Unless it is plain worn out, why not rebuild it??

I'm thinking it's plain worn out. I've rebuilt it before. It's always had a whistle as certain throttle positions which I believe it coming from the throttle valve shaft. It's also recently started leaking gas out that, so I'm thinking it's just worn out there.

I rebuilt the one on my 71. But on my 69, the lower portion/throttle body spring control would never come back all the way resulting in it sticking with the throttle a little open.

Is there any local carb business' there? Maybe some place local that can install bushings in yours.

Unfortunatley, there's just a few local service stations. I'm in a very rural area.
Can you buy bushings for these and maybe use a drill press to bore out the holes?

there are some places you can send your carb to and have it rebuilt. Not cheaper. Carburetors and More in Texas would charge about $300. I have known people who have used them.

There's a bushing listed on that site. I may pull mine off and see exactly how bad it is first.

Also, there's some new China carbs on ebay for around 120. That's much cheaper than a rebuilt one if I end up having to go that route. Anyone ever tried one of those out?

I never had much luck rebuilding junkbox carbs for some reason. They worked OK, but. Probably was the throttle shaft bushings, I dunno. Rebuilt carburetors are stupid expensive, but they might be worth it, IF they have done everything they are supposed to. A properly remanufactured carburetor will be bench flowed or run on an actual engine and the rest of it, as well as having a warranty and return policy. Spend a little more and have someone that will stand behind their product and service, and be there after the sale.
