Battery replacement
I had to replace the battery when my Ranger was 2.5 years old. I have a friend in the business so I did it myself
About a month ago on a road trip the cruise control started went dead while it was on then came back. Then when we were almost home the map on the dash board said we were in the middle of Lake Pontchatrain.
I took the truck to the dealer for an oil chance and I mentioned to the service writer that the battery was new and he told me that if the battery gets disconnected a memory has to be reset which was done. That is why the cruise control and the map went crazy.
So if any one needs a battery be sure to keep the truck connected to a 12 volt source or maybe one of the code keepers that plugs in the a power outlet should work.

I also had my battery replaced at 2.5 years, but I got it done under warranty for free. In my case, the auto start-stop was working intermittently due to low battery voltage, so the dealer replaced the battery.
Motorcraft battery's quality must have gone downhill from past years. I've had them last 11 years, so this 2.5 year lifespan is pretty poor.
