Yesterday my truck started a bit slow. Today it's getting worse currently only maintaining 10.9 w ac on and 11.1 with it off from the OBD. With a ford starter about 2 years old and batteries at one year in thinking it's the alternator. Is it worth putting on the 6.0 alternator? Going to need this repaired tomorrow.
Thanks
It's an almost plug and play upgrade that only requires a little clearancing of the saddle on the bracket. I recommend the Bosch unit but if time is an issue then I understand sometimes we get what we can get. If you put a high demand on your alternator frequently then it's a good idea, if not then you likely won't notice any difference at all.
It will require some grinding of the alternator bracket. Also, you will need to swap your pulley off the old alternator onto this one. I don't have enough time or miles on it to say if its crap or not. On first startup it will charge at 14.36v. After several minutes of driving it will maintain at 14.19v. Seems to be working well. I have a leece neville on another truck. Unless you are trying to power a small city...I don't recommend it.
