2017 F250 Super Duty XLT Premium 22k miles, Bought this truck used in February, and have had some issues with the bed lights. Originally only the passenger side lamp worked with the switch in the cab, the switch in the bed did nothing. After chasing the wiring found a plug had come apart under the driver side lamp. Got it plugged in and then it started working with the switch in cab as well. Recently made some changes in FORScan and now they come on with the doors, and for some reason the headlights? The cargo lamp switch in cab does nothing anymore, not even the actual lamp up on the cab. I have no clue what happened, I didn't change anything in Forscan connected to the cargo lamps. Anyone run into issues like this? Sorry, kind of long post, any input would be greatly appreciated.
The bed lights should only turn on when the in bed switch is pressed. At least I think that's how mine work. I guess I never actually got out and looked to see if the in bed lights come on when the in cab button is pressed (try later). I have made several Forscan changes but none have caused what you are experiencing.
On my 2022 XLT premium with the $60 bed light option, the switch on the left side of the tailgate turns on a pair of lights on either side of the bed and the white light on the back of the cab. Same as the switch in the lighting cluster in the cab.
I would try going back into FORScan and reverse the changes you made and see if the resolves the issue. From your post your said "changeS" as in you changed multiple setting. If you go back the the original settings, verify all returned to "normal", then do each change one at a time. Also double check you had made the correct change in the correct placehold setting. One final note- I made a couple changes with FORScan for trucks not in the same model year as mine. Figured I just give it a try. The changes inadvertently cause weird things to happen so I just change those settings back to OEM settings.
Update if anyone is following, I got my lights back! In the non as built bdycm there is a "Lincoln Experience" that I Enabled (I was working on getting my mirrors to auto fold/unfold), and that seems to be the culprit. As soon as I disabled it, my bed lights were functional again.
That's' Great. Happy it was not serious. It is amazing how a simple change can effect something that you would not think is connected to what you are doing.
