I was having trouble locating a shop who could check out my generator and regulator. It wasn’t charging, new brushes and new regulator didn’t help.
Tom, aka. Jersey Devil, sent me a PM that he had a guy near him, about 40 miles away. I met up with Tom last week, saw his truck and his car, both showpieces!! He took me to the shop and we dropped off the gen and reg, then he took me to lunch, sandwich and a beer.
The shop took care of gen, adjusted the regulator but I’m short on time, so Tom picked up my stuff, paid for it, and drove 21 miles to a place halfway between us. I met him at a gas station, paid him back or course.
Hell of a guy, always great meeting fellow vintage Ford Truckers.
Just guessing at your location, but if you use Chester/Bridgeport bridge then 322 west it will take you directly to Truckstock with a very pleasant ride

I drive my vehicles in Pennsylvania all the time. It is the Pennsy turnpike that turns me off.
Enjoy

I don't blame you about the PA TP especially around Philly. If you could wind your way north to Allentown on back roads then take 309 to Hazelton, then I-80 west you'd avoid the heavy traffic with crazy drivers.
I usually try to avoid the interstate highways. If you are not in a big hurry, it mostly can be done except getting around the occasional big city. I just plan a route and then use GPS to go small town to small town. Last year, I was in a hurry to get home, and spent quite a bit of time on major highways. I maintained a pretty steady 60 mph, stayed in the same lane hour after hour, and let the cars and trucks blast past me. Not my preferred way to travel, but it worked.

Avoiding freeways was one of main reasons I thought towed my truck to truckstock. It took just over 3 hours on freeways, avoiding freeways added 3 hours to the drive, so double the time.

I look at it a bit differently......The ride is the reason the destination is the excuse
