Well the plug seems to work. The 60 mile round trip was about 50% interstate and 50% stop and go traffic and CEL never came on. Going to move forward with the delete and get a block off plate and pull the upper intake to remove the tube and install a pipe plug in it's place. Also didn't notice any difference in engine coolant temp, i have an aftermarket analog temp gauge. If anything changes I'll update.
Haven't checked for codes. I know my CEL is working though. Wouldn't a EGR fault trigger the CEL? I guess it wouldn't hurt to scan, I'll do so tomorrow after work.

Yes but not likely in the first drive cycle.. but i dont know what eec-iv trigger things are.
also, the coolant temp wouldnt be what increases a lot without egr.
its combustion chamber temps, like, top of the cylinder area where its hot and you could have preignition. it also displaces some of the AF mixture so you dont have to use fuel on that. i realize egr isnt perfect but unless the engine were not very close temp wise to worrisome, then I would be inclined to at least keep and just clean the system periodically.
