2005 E-350 Club Wagon configuration, 5.4 engine and 4R75E transmission.
I believe the torque converter in the locally rebuilt transmission is failing, the rebuild about 52K miles so far. I will be checking for transmission DTC's but just trying to get a step ahead in order to minimize down time---this is a work truck needed daily.
If the TC is all that needs replaced is there a preferred brand for stock performance? Should the front pump seal be replaced along with the TC? Is there an "assembly lube" used to install the TC onto the transmission input shaft?
Question about DTC's---are those related to the transmission in the "P" category, as in "P0700". That's just an example, not yet checked for tranmission codes, that's upcoming soon.
Always a good idea to change the seal if the converter is coming out. Use a bit of light trans assy gell on the seal or vaseline, or transfluid. New converter add some fluid in it before install. Lube the bearing if you can as well and the bearing surface of the converter.
