Reviewing many posts, I haven't found the same thing going on, but I suspect the culprit to be a wiring harness issue with plugs that don't have dielectric grease in them.
Symptoms:
1) Telescoping mirrors will extend when truck is off and will not retract for several trips.
2) Tailgate opens very sporadically when truck placed in drive. (This is the only symptom I can find addressed)
3) Sliding rear window will open when truck is off after several hours (fantastic on a day like today when we get 1.5 inches of rain...) it will not close for several trips like the mirrors.
4) Communications issue from time to time with ECM/PCM to TCM (the generic trouble code for it).
Note: none of these have ever happened together besides 3 and 4. 3 happens often, but 4 has only happened once so far.
It seems like rain or humidity makes these occur more often, which makes me think wiring harness connectors.
Best thing you can do is get rid of the truck. You'll pull your hair out trying to fix those kinds of electrical gremlins and you might never even find the cause.

This thing was great right up until it wasn't lol I've never bought new until this truck and it reminded me why I drove my 2000 7.3 to 400k miles before parting ways with it...
With the loooongggg wait to get a new truck, it might not be such a bad idea to order a tube Ford Dielectric Grease and spend a day under your truck squeezing a dollop into each connector. Might even want to pick up a wiring diagram that lists the location each connector. I have the same truck and I have both items. I just need to put time aside to follow my own advise. I unloaded nice car that started to have gremlins, (like the computer suddenly showing the car was in reverse while driving forward at speed), just to avoid a complete meltdown and full devaluation.

I have plenty of dielectric grease, just need the time to dig in. Thanks all!
clearly a wiring harness issue... this morning it's now throwing a DEF fault and limited the speed while also not shutting off the accessory power when the truck is shut off...
Update: it was indeed a faulty harness. The NOX sensor and harness it connects to needs replaced due to corrosion. Of course there was a TSB on it and I'm being told the emissions and powertrain warranty will not cover it. $900
