New to me 2020 Ranger XLT S/Cab 4x4

the XL is a New leftover I located & was going to buy until my salesman discovered it’d already been sold

I’m am so excited with the 270hp @ 5500rpm & 310ft lbs of TORQUE @ a MEASLY 3000rpms !!!
7th gear is 1:1 so the top 3 gears really slows the revs down & believe it or not : it’ll pull them very well.
No 4 or Naturally Aspirated V6 Torque will compare to this little Monster : that coming from a Long Time F350 Diesel guy too lol

I’ve owned a 1988 1998 2000 2005 & now this NEW & IMPROVED Used 1 owner 2020 2.3L Eco BOOST with 15k miles

Do you remove the factory lower rear bumper bracket to install an OEM 2” Receiver hitch ?

id like to do a 2” leveling kit IF it doesn’t cause alignment / drive / handling issues

are these 17” stock wheels 8” width … with about 6” backspacing / +32mm offset ?

2020 Ranger NOW has Eco Boost Badge Emblem on the Tailgate

OEM tailgate badge that Ford evidently dropped on 2020 & newer.
Along with the engine cover lol

Very nice! I too have owned several of the older Rangers and was always very impressed with them. Very hard-working little trucks, even my first 86 with its 4 cylinder was an absolute work horse! Since then I've owned 2 F-150's until my 2012 proved to be a lemon. Not needing anything that big anymore and frankly not wanting to drive anything that big everyday anymore I ultimately downsized into a used Ford Edge AWD. It's ok but I do miss having a truck. I've had the chance to drive several Rangers already and been very impressed. It's quite competent and will hang with any full size. That 2.3 Ecoboost will scoot! New or used the Ranger will most likely be my next vehicle. It's a much more comfortable size too for when I have to go into the city than the big F-150.

My wife said last night this 2020 is more roomier & way more comfortable than my previous 2005.

im sure glad I didn’t find a low mileage 2005 - 2011.

im loving this Eco Boost Torque Monster Performance @ 1100 - 1900 rpm range

it’s truly IMPRESSIVE

I'm curious as to how many of you guys out there looked at/considered the other mid-size trucks on the market; new Frontier, Colorado, ancient Tacoma? If so, what were the factors that swayed you towards the Ranger? I've driven a Canyon and the older Frontier. I like the looks of the new Nissan Frontier but have not driven it yet.

I bought one for my daughter and after driving it home I told my wife we might have gotten way to much truck. She asked why I said get in that thing and drive it you don’t even need to stomp on it either. That little 2.3 and 10 speed is very impressive.

Yep drove them all rentals for work but anyway I like the Ranger better especially on MPG its way better than the other 3.

compare the TORQUE output & what rpm it makes it at compared to any others out there.

the boosted 2.3 inline 4cyl makes wicked power & more than V6’s in other brands too.

my father in-law has a Toyota Tacoma V6 & it downshifts all the time even on flat ground empty - the ranger will outpull, out run & out perform it + better mpg too.

It’s a no brainer after U drive one & appreciate power & torque.

no sense in revving an engine 5k rpm to pull hills wasting fuel

I see what you're saying and you're absolutely right. Ford's turbo 4 does make as much, if not more, power than any n/a V6 on the market. I think one of my biggest concerns is the longevity of such a complex motor with that turbocharger. My experience so far with my Edge has shown me that they really don't need a whole lot more maintenance, just be careful of what kind of fuel you put in there. I try to stay with the top shelf fuel for its extra detergents to keep the intake areas from getting too gummed up with carbon deposits. I haven't had the car long enough to determine longevity issues but it does already have 82,000+ miles on a 2017. It has the little 2.0 Ecoboost

Ford has sold me on all their EB engines.
IF they would Twin Turbo the 7.3L in the super duty - I’d step away from my LOVED 6.7’s in my 2016 & 2019 F350’s

i can’t stand a downshifting hi ReVViN N/A gas motor wringing it’s guts out to make peak torque
drives me crazy
