Hi all. I, just picked up my new '22 F350 Lariat. I'm wondering if there is a way to get rid of the NAV button on the sync 4 touchscreen? I use Google Maps and Android Auto, so the NAV just gets in the way, along with the bottom button. I specifically didn't order the ultimate package to avoid having nav, but it turns out I have it (or partially have it) anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
All Lariat and higher get NAV.
No way to get rid of the button AFAIK, just ignore it.
May as well play with it for 3 months until the subscription runs out, it has some good features, like national weather radar.
On my Sync 3, maybe Sync 4 is different, when I connect Android Auto the NAV button changes to Maps (Google Maps for me).
Different for 2022. Both buttons remain. I don't care enough to go take a picture for you, but I assure you that when Android Auto is connected, the AA button is right next to the factory navigation button and never goes away. I'm working through some BS with Sync 4 nav giving me false traffic delays and I'm used to switching over to AA to know the truth with just the push of a button.
Funny you mention that the NAV button gets in the way.... I've had my '22 F450 Platinum since December (3,200 miles), and I don't even remember that it has a NAV button!
One thing you might consider. Although I prefer using the Android Auto maps, when I was running around parts of northern Washington State, there was no T-mobile cell coverage, and hence, no maps. However, the Ford Navigation worked flawlessly. So consider that if you are someone who likes to run around in the mountains.

I do not use cell phone data at all while driving, and I was very accustomed to GPS service provided by satellites. However, I'm too cheap to pay $80/year for Ford's GPS subscription. I've since learned how to download and save sections of Google maps to my cell phone which Android Auto uses for navigation. I select what area(s) to download, and they get updated automatically when my cell is connected to my home WiFi. No satellites, no cell service, no problem.
Granted, there's no weather and traffic updates, but I doubt traffic is much of a problem in those areas without cell service. Weather? I'm in an enclosed vehicle. I do have weather service on my motorcycle's GPS unit so I know when to don my rain gear.
