I like the dump bed, very unique. Looks like you have short running boards, if they are factory then your truck might have come just as a cab and chassis.
The 8' Express beds are very hard to find but this place used to make pretty decent replacements many years ago, maybe they'll do a special order. The boxes they made didn't have the raised panels like original.
wow thanks for the reply , you rally think it came like that??? And thanks so much for the info im a mopar guy but always wanted one of this vintage and im a stock nut ! i really want to put a bed on it im picking it up Thursday its been sitting since 2013 I'm buying it from the owners widow . Truck is showroom thanks again!
The truck looks nice. Really great. That short dump bed looks real cool. You'd have a one of a kind at car shows. But a pickup bed would be nice looking too. Keep us posted.
A few points of concerns with an F-3 is brakes and wheels. Brake parts can be difficult to find and stock rims are two piece widow makers. There's ways to work around the brakes, convert front to disc and swap out the rear axle for a newer pre-'73 F-250. I wouldn't worry about those things right now, from the looks of it it's a well maintained truck. There's a lot of info on both on this forum, do a search and you'll find it.
