I am starting my 6L after it sitting for 26 months. Replaced the stater charged batteries both. I have pulled the fuel tank replaced the fuel with new fuel. I am going to change the oil with new 5w40 conventional diesel oil. Is there anything else I should do before I turn the key ?
Yeah I have some very industrious chipmunks here. They like to setup shop in my tractor every so often. They have reeked havoc on fuel lines and trailer wiring.
Yes I load tested the batteries. I have changed out the fuel by dropping the tank cleaning it out reinstall and put in 10 gallons of new diesel. Going to town tomorrow to pick up oil and do an oil change. Put on a new starter. (It was weak when I last drive it). It is a 6 spd manual transmission. Should the colant be OK?
Thanks guys for the advice. Got truck running no issues so far cycled the key 6 or 7 times turned over 2x with key 2nd time it started let run for 20 mins no leaks no problems.
