So here's my thing: The recall spans trucks built up to September of 2020, but according to the article they didn't start the remedy till June 2021... So what about the trucks built between September 2020 and June 2021? My truck was built October 2020.
I've really been debating if there's something wrong with my tranny. This is my first modern ford vehicle, so I don't know exactly what is normal. My trans will shift perfectly when towing, but when empty some of the shifts will darn near give you whiplash they're so harsh, most commonly when it upshifts into 3rd. But it's very random. It'll shift fine for a couple hours, then start sloshing your brain around....
I love my truck but the 10spd honestly sucks. Whats weird is it will be great some days and not so on others.
Exactly the same here. One day last week i thought 'oh man they must've beamed an update in that worked!' then a day later i was like 'nope, same ol ****'.
Really think Ford should institute a rule where they have to actually drive their design before producing it for the public. Clearly this wasn't done with this 10spd.

Yup. Sometimes it seems like the transmission has to warm up or get hot. WHen I left work yesterday, leaving my parking spot I gave it gas, it up shifted to 5 then I let of gas and it jumped down to 3 and then 5 then 4 like it was confused. When it did that it sounded bad like i was getting rammed by a vehicle from behind.
So my truck, 2021 F-250 7.3L is in the shop again because it's not shifting correctly. While it's not a diesel it was built in November of 2020. Trans was replaced at 11k miles and then it drove great for about 2 months, and now back to the same crap the 1st trans was doing. They claimed the 1st trans had high line pressure so that's why it was replaced. Every time the dealer puts the trans back in re-learn it seems to shift great and gives me a short period of hope until re-learn is over then back to horrible shifting. So I get what you mean about one day good another bad. Wish it could stay in re-learn forever. Time will tell what they decide to do this time but I doubt they will be replacing the trans again. Already called and got a case number from Ford, hopefully I don't need it.

I’m seriously I debating getting a 5 star tune to see what happens with that. If it works great from then on out its obviously a tune.
I got the recall notice on my FordPass also. I have 26K on mine and it has been nothing but smooth. It really shines when pulling our almost 15K fifth wheel. I hate to have it undergo surgery but I will take it in when notified. Now I have to worry about driving it on our trips starting next month as it appears it will be a while before the repair is done.

No sense babying it now if the transmission pukes between now and the recall date Ford can replace it instead of fix the one in the truck !! I'm not telling You to abuse it but to continue using it the way You have been !!
