Hello all! New to the boards. I recently traded my 1992 F150 300 ci. in for this 1997 F250 HD, 7.5L truck, loaded with power everything. Got a nice price on it too (Probably due to the gas guzzling 460 ci., but we use this truck for hunting, fishing and camping only, so it will get less than 2000 miles a year)
We have 30 acres in Montana (With hunting and fishing rights to 10,000 acres, "Shining Mountains Property Assoc.") so this one will see plenty of offroad in the years to come.
It had 59,000 miles when I bought it last Saturday. With my trade in, I paid $11,500. The original sticker (inside the glove box) was $32,504! Mechanically its in perfect condition. Plan to put a 11 ft. Holiday Camper on the back and pull a boat so the 410 lbs. of torque and the 4.11 rear end should be helpful!
Looking forward to posting with y'all!
Very nice rig, I love my 460, Tons of low end torque and gets pretty good mileage(12mpg) I have 207,000 miles on mine and uses very little oil. There is no replacement for displacement!
Thank you for posting the picture, it does look very sharp. Fully floating axles, 4.10 rear, all nice. 10-12K towing capacity depending on TT/FW.
I have very much the same thing but '89. It is the older style of course with mirrors slightly different and grille also but the same beast under the skin. I also hope to take mine to 200K miles and I have 155K to go. Isn't that exciting?

I love the late 80's, 90's smooth lines. Damn gas guage on mine is a pick pocket though!~
Hope you like your 460 as much as I love mine. They are great engines. Awsome power, the only thing that is bad about them is the fuel milage but I didn't buy the truck for fuel milage. I get around the same milage as c_rossman does. I have 184,000 miles and it still is running strong. They will pull anything too.

Thansk Kevin,Good to hear! Its incredible how much power this thing has, just revving the engine alittle in the driveway torques the body slightly..unbelieveable! Testorone high
Hey, where in Montana are you? Our retirement property is just outside Ennis, on the Gravely Mtn. range. I get over there a couple times a year as I have relatives in the local Ennis area.
