Any photos of the rear and the clearance between them?

I ran a similar size on the 16" wheels on my 2000 dually and there wasn't much room. I know the 17+ wheels are a little wider so maybe the 255's fit a little better.

Mr.Mag,

Those are nice for sure. I wish the polished wheels were available. Thank you for posting pictures.

Thank you for the picture, I appreciate it very much, they look great. Makes the decision tough.

So another dilemma I'm working on now is tire size, I think I have my answer but Id like the experts here to confirm it. I'm looking to put a set of BTG T/A KO2's on the truck, I don't want to hear tire opinions just concerned about size. Stock is 245/75/17 according to the chart that's a 31.5" tall tire and 9.8" wide on a 7" rim, I'm curious, and I'm sure I already know the answer, if a 285/70/17 will fit without spacers or having the tires touch. The chart says its 32.8" tall, and measure 11.5" wide on a 8.5" rim. The wheels I'm fairly certain I'm going to go with are 6.5" wide. My gut tells me no way is it going to work but Id rather hear it from someone whose got more knowledge of what will and wont work on the dually.

I did look and see if the BFG came in the 255/80/17 in a RWL but didn't see it anywhere.

Second dilemma is the TPMS valve stems, this journey all started because I have the corrosion on my original wheels at the valve stems, Id like to keep the TPMS rather than turn it off with FORSCAN, I do have the ability to program any sensors, can I just use a sensor from a non dually SD with a rubber stem and program it to my truck?

Thanks,

Sarge

255/80r17 is as big as you can go without a spacer and still leave room between the duals, I tow a 35’ 5th wheel and have plenty of room. I have discount tires do my tire work and have never had a valve stem issue. Can’t help with the bigger rims I stayed with 6.5” stock size, and just went back to all steel wheels so I can rotate the tires rather than just side to side with cast wheels.

My son on his 16 is running BFG KO2 34/10.5-17 stock wheels No spacers no rubbing. He has towed or heavy 5th wheels with no issue.

Thanks for the info,

Im staying with a 6.5" wide wheel as well. This adventure all started a year or so ago when I asked about warranty on the wheels. My original wheels have aluminum valve stems, and they are corroded where the stem comes through the wheel. I asked if that was a warranty repair but I was over the 3/36 which I should've payed attention too. I was only asking if rubber stems were ok to run with the TPMS sensors from a SRW SD, Id rather not spend the money on new wheels and have another corrosion issue with aluminum valve stems.
