window tint examples - let's see 'em

Got an appointment to get my truck tinted next week. I've always done 5% all around and an eyebrow on past trucks, but not sure I want to do that with this one.
Tint guy said 5% on front doors and 15% on rear doors / back glass is what they seem to do the most and the windows all look the same on the outside and also inside looking thru them.

Looking for example pics of what tint you got front / rear, please.

(would be great if this could turn into THE thread to see what everyone's tint looks like without getting into legal / tangent discussions)

20% front tint
I can't image going much darker and its a great match to the factor rear glass. color match totally depends on the film manufacturer. this is not purple/blue at all 👍

Unfortunately pictures do not give the most accurate representation of what the film truly looks like in person. There are other tint threads with some recommendations and photos. A 20% can look just as dark as 5% in a photo.

I have Llumar CTX on mine and found the front glass to make sort of a greenish tint to the film. It was noticeably different from the inside when compared to the rear. I don't think it would be noticeable with something as dark as 5%.

Absolutely dead on, here's 20% sides with 15 back and 70 windshield. The 70 looks darker in the first photo than the 20 in the second.

With 20% sides 15 rear and 70 windshield the reg cab is a bit harder to see in than the rear of most factory tinted trucks in the same light.
Obviously I can't speak for matching the rears but from a functionality point I'd go 30% in the front if doing it again as I've noticed a slight loss in visibility out the sides during night driving that I have not had before with 30% and the "privacy" 20% offers isn't worth much

Would recommend global or xpel ceramics, they have good coloring to my eye and are quality films.

Following.

More interested in heat reduction and UV fade reduction as my truck stays outside in the southern heat and sun. A little darker in the front doors would be OK along with some visor tint.

20% on the side windows and a 35% brow. FWIW, I’m not a fan of the brow… I would rather the whole window be tinted, but that’s illegal in my state…

Looking out from within. I just don’t like that hard line…

Went with 15% all the way around and 50% on the entire windshield and moonroof. Probably should have done 15% on the moonroof.

20% on the doors and back glass. 35% on the windshield. Windshield was a first for me and it's worth every penny for the best heat rejection. I'm in North Mississippi and the sun/heat is brutal in the summer along with the humidity. My truck sits outside all the time.

Most all film types block 99% of UV rays, but for heat rejection ceramic tint is what you want to get. Most brands have a Ceramic IR (infrared rejection) version that look to have higher heat reduction numbers.

20% on front windows. Nothing else for comparison. Cloudier days obviously so it may appear darker here than it actually was.

Is mine the only one that gets dirty?

I went with the lightest Ceramic film they offered on the front 3, and I think 5% on the back 3.

Think I about got half a mind to just go with 15% on the front doors and leave the rear doors stock. I know you’d be able to see straight thru the truck from head on or behind tho and that would bother me. Maybe get 50-35% on the rear window to darken it up a bit more than stock……

Ive always had 5% on all my trucks but the more I see your pics with 15-20% makes me rethink status quo. My wife’s Tahoe has front doors matching the rest of the stock glass and looks real good, but in certain light you can see thru it like it’s clear.

Keep the pics coming! Hopefully this thread can help a lot more folks than me.

5% on all windows with a fat 5% brow. Ive done the same on all previous trucks along with 20% on the whole windshield, but didn't want to get hassled out of town about the whole windshield on this one. Cops in Central Florida don't seem to worry about the 5% on the sides and I'm seeing more and more with dark windshields.

If you are used to 5%, I wouldn’t go any less than 15%. My previous truck was tinted when I bought it but it had 5% all around with 20% on windshield. The windshield was terrible but I was too lazy/cheap to get it redone. I went 20% around with a 50% windshield on current truck (all ceramic). I wish it was darker. Whenever my 22 comes in (if ever), I’m going to 10-15% all around with 35% on windshield with a 5% brow. If I need better visibility at night backing up or farther down the road at night in the rain, that’s just a good excuse to shop for some aftermarket light bars. New truck will have LEDs so doubt I’ll need anything up front.

This is just tinting the front windows and left the factory rear window as is.

From factory rear window.
