So I take it the factory tint is 25 on the rear and rear doors? Do they take that off to do 5% or add more? Would love to do the windshield at maybe 50% but it's not legal in Texas. I'll probably go 25 on the front and 5 behind. And even though that's legal in Texas, I'll still auto down my window if approached by a cop.

Factory tint is in the glass, no taking it off. Not sure if the tint shop just adds the difference for making it darker or adds the dark % tint.
35 on sides (legal) & 20% on windshield strip.
only because I use truck to travel alot. 35% is legal everywhere that I know of, 20% can be pushing it in some states.

Full windshield tint isn’t legal here in Florida either, but I figured I’ll just take my chances. 50% offers just enough UV and heat protection without affecting my ability to see out. Friends have said they didn’t even know the entire windshield was tinted.
As for the rear windows, I went with 15% over the existing factory tint which I did in my previous vehicle and never once got stopped for it, and it really is pretty dark, especially on a black truck.

I got pulled over in .Michigan for window tint because the cop couldn’t see I was from Indiana. Trailer plate was covered with snow. He said Michigan doesn’t allow any tint on front windows, but since I was from Indiana, there wasn’t anything he could do.
So you shouldn’t have to worry about any other states laws while in them.
Had it tinted after, factory wasnt dark enough. I dont want people to see inside the bed. More a security thing IMO. It also has power locks on the back window that works off the OE key fob. Happy with it.
