Hey guys, new member here. I tried searching for a thread regarding replacement parts for older F150s but haven't had any luck yet. I'm just wondering if you guys have found any good websites for aftermarket parts. I know of Rock auto and LMC, but they don't have the parts I need in stock. I'm also open to used parts too, if anyone knows a good site with a good selection.
I have a 1981 F150 reg cab stepside and I need;
brake drums or a rotor swap kit, 5 bolt rims, fuel tank/pump/lines, door cards, headliner, carpet, body panels (fenders, doors, floor panel), side mirrors, and taillights.
If anyone can recommend a good site I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance!
I also found the correct badges and a few other odds and ends here https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/?ut...hoCDIYQAvD_BwE
I never got a shipping notification and when I called the dude (possibly denis carpenter) just ranted about the internet. But the stuff showed up and it all fit.
I've been looking at some west coast mirrors for my truck, found em from several vendors but Amazon was/is the cheapest (same brand and manufacturer). Your OEM units are with some dough.. Ditto for tail lights, Grote units that are very similar to OEM. Same w running (chicken) lights if you're so inclined.
Wheels are easy, unless you want stockers, even skinny steelies. I just ordered a set of factory-looking steelies from Wheel Vintiques (Series 62, 15x8) which cost less brand new than a rusty 15x5.5 OEM unit on eBay. Lots of steel and aluminum wheels available with a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern, just beware the center hole diameter on your 4wd model.
Brake and steering parts should be available from O'Reilly, NAPA, or Auto Zone. A lot of parts are on backorder as manufacturers play catch-up. Bronco Graveyard, LMC, and Parts.com (used stuff) are good places to hunt for replacement steel, interior parts, trim, odds and ends.
At a show last weekend someone told me about FMC had parts.
I have not heard of them before then and have not looked them up some can't say if they have anything or not?
