E4OD wont shift to low hot
93 F250 7.3 240K. hasn't been used much last few years. Tranny was rebuilt years ago. When just driving, shifting is fine- starts out in low, shift points seem pretty good. I put a trailer on it and after driving a few miles loaded, it wont shift to low after stopping - even manually.. If it cools off for 30 minutes it is good again. I was working it pretty hard yesterday and had to baby it or the engine temp light would come on. I did pull the shifter into low at a stop sign after temp gauge read normal... it still started out in 2nd but when I got up to about 30, it did shift into 1st then shift right for the last 2 miles home. I have done absolutely no trouble shooting except to check tranny oil and read a lot. As the truck has been running normal just driving it about, I haven't even washed out the radiator. Speedo and tach are correct and consistent.. no leaks. Shifts with some authority but not aggressive. I do know how to run a multimeter and temp gun. Tim

Also, you can check the connector on the passenger's side of the trans. The two red wires should each have +12v with the key on.
