I know this subject has been beat to death but I would like some opinions from anyone with a similar truck. I currently own a 2019 F250 King Ranch 6.7 20" wheels with 355 gears. The only towing I do is my enclosed car trailer, not real heavy, well under 10,000 lbs. I put an order in for a new truck back in Novemder 2021, that is identical. I was at the dealership yesterday and my salesman said my truck was built and on a train. I asked for a window sticker and that is when I saw that the dealer put the order in specifying 331 gears. My concern is with the 20" wheels and 331 gears. I test drove one with that configuration and I had to get above 60 mph to get into 10th gear. I also test drove a 21 limited with 355's and would go into 10th gear between 50 and 55. Understanding their are 3 overdrive gears i am assuming it is okay if 10th is never used unless on the highway. My 2019 with the 6 speed has very good bottom end acceleration. Would the 331 with the 10 speed and the additional torque and horsepower have comparable bottom end performance?
The 20" wheels make absolutely no difference, it is the diameter of the tires that might, but they won't in this case because all the tires included on SRW trucks are very close in diameter.
And, there is very little difference between 3.31 and 3.55 gears, like less than 50 rpm at highway speed.

There is a 7.25% difference between 3.31 and 3.55. Roughly 80-100rpm difference at cruising speeds according to a calculator.
my problem is that i cant drive 65 . speed limit is 75 or 70 so most traffic is moving at least 75
truck loves 77. 23 mpg
i may have to have wife drive 65 and see how high it goes
Gear ratio choice in a 20'+ PSD SRW truck is not a factor.
I tow 10K, and sometimes a lot more. It's almost ridiculous how little difference towing weight makes to the performance of the truck.
