I've installed a 72 Mustang 351C 2 barrel that originally had a FMX in my 53 Ford Panel. I recently read that there are Flex plates that bolt to both the 351C and the AOD but cause pump problems. Can anyone tell me which flex plate is the correct one for my application?
You are going to need to match it up regardless of who says what will work and you get the part
I know of no flex plate for that application Speedway or wherever you were reading does not offer one?
The dimensions are roughly the same as far as torque converter to flex plate distance
The converter slides enough that front pump and or shaft issues should not be a problem
