Ball Joints ooooor something else?

2003 f350 7.3 2wd. Stupid question, but these don't look like ball joints. Are they kingpins? I'm so confused 😥

A king pin would be a long pin going thru both top and bottom positions of the ball joints.

That looks clean and tight. What issue are you working on?

Get some with zerks so you can periodically lubricate them and never have to do that job again.

Mine looked perfect on the outside as well, but whenever I stepped on the brakes, the front end would make a grumbling, groaning sound. What the problem was, is the grease inside the boots had dried up over the years, so I got some new Motorcraft ball joints with zerk fittings. Cured the noise, and no worries, ever, of having to replace them again. Just give a shot of grease every year or so.
