Emergency Park Release Cable

I looked in the Tech Folders, no joy.

So the braided cable that goes from the "pull handle release" to the parking brake mechanism broke.

Ford is obsolete, Dorman shows a universal cable kit #21119, that adds new wire to the original sleeve.

Anyone done this repair and what kit did you use.

I was able to use a long screw driver and trip the release manually but this needs to be repaired to the wife doesn't' sent the brake and call me to release it.

Thanks

Did the cable break where you can see it? There is also an issue with the parking brake assembly where two riveted pieces break apart. That's what happened to mine. Was setting brake one day when heard a loud noise and pedal went to floor.

Found a complete assembly, Dorman #924-087 for $30, has a short and long swage on the cable end, used the shorter swage, works just fine.
