What are you guys using for back up cameras when you remove you tailgate? And where did you mount it. I backed into a crepe myrtle bush yesterday, no damage, so I guess I need one. My truck is a 2021 F250 and it looks to difficult to remove the camera in the tailgate. I really would rather leave it in anyway.
I am about to get a Rosta kit for mine, has the 360 camera setup, it is $500 or I found the camera from Ford for $260 and would need to find the cord with the brown Fakra Type F female connectors I think it is on Ebay for $10 from the C H I N A company. The Rostra kit has a box to mount the camera in and a 14' cord to go 4' but no way to mount that box. I was thinking to fab a bracket to mount that to the to the top license plate bolts or buy a camera and cord and fab a mount. That 360 camera has a different shape that makes it more difficult to mount it, their mount box will sandwich it in place.
I feel confident the camera for my '22 F350 with the 360 camera is pn JC3Z-19G490-B.
If you don't have the 360 camera, Rostra has a kit with the license plate bracket for much less.
If I am wrong on the part numbers and cord, somebody let me know.
I backed up to a boat trailer without my tailgate and about smashed one of the rear sensors in the rear bumper.
I bought one of these for my 2017 over 4 years ago, and it's still working great. Plug and play, so splicing to do. I mounted it on the license plate with the bracket they include with it. It uses the AUX button when the backup camera is on. A must have for pickup campers, for sure! Camera Source
I got one from Camera Source as well. It came with a plastic housing and I mounted it near the top of the camper. It plugs in directly to the truck where the tailgate camera plugs in, and integrates with the truck's 360 degree cameras. Cost was about $400. I believe it is the OEM camera with an aftermarket housing. It is a bit pricy but I think worth it as it comes with the correct connector for easy install/removal and you don't need to mess with additional screens, wireless/bluetooth connections, etc. You can also remove the camera from your tailgate and just buy the housing/cord from them I think, which is about $200 but would require more work to reinstall if you are ever going to use the truck without the camper. It is one more thing to connect/disconnect every time you load/unload the camper, however.
They sell lots of different models and I ended up calling them to make sure I got the correct one for my truck. Their customer service was excellent and the camera works great.

Thanks for this, I will give them a call and see if they can rework it with a single Fakra connector for the '22 truck. $200 is better for something that gets used occasionally than $500.
I have been using Brandmotion 9002-7452 sold on Amazon. One year and still works. When the T/C is on the view is not the best because of the overhang.
I also have another camera by Lastbus, also from amazon. Comes with monitor and wireless camera. It says on continuously when I am driving. Great for when I am towing with the T/C on.
Does anyone know with the when you shift into reverse on a 2021 F250 with no tailgate on if you get an aux button on a sync 3 screen? Or would it not show up since you don't have a hooked up camera?
Has anyone used the Camera Source CS-FTRSD-LP model camera on their 2021 F250? I do not have the 360 degree version and I am having difficulty finding a camera that will work. I have a 12 pin connector and a six pin that went to the tailgate.
I talked to camera source and the nice man said (as understand it) if you have an extra unused 12 pin that is on top of the spare tire you can plug in the $200 unit with the license plate bracket. This is not the two used with the OE tailgate but a separate connector?? I need to take a look....
I looked and I do not have another unused 12 pin on top of the spare tire. So I don't know if I am just out of luck on this or if there is another solution.

My '22 CCSB doesn't either that I could find. Looks like the $500 is the only choice unless I fab something up with an OE sensor and a Fakra cable then still maybe $350.
If I can fit my 5er on the truck with the tailgate on the truck, I might do nothing as I may be selling the TC.
