I was wondering if there is supposed to be some form of bushings between the bed and the frame? Time to re-install my bed is approaching, and I don’t have anything like that. There was no trace of anything like that when I removed the bed, but then again, there were hardly anything left of the bolts even…
I don't think that there was anything between the bed and the frame. You could put some rubber there if you really think it might help out but I would not make it very thick.
My truck bed on my 72 didnt have anything between the bed and frame when I disassembled everything. With the new poly cab bushings, I will have to make spacers for it to get the body lined up.
If it helps any my 81 style side also sis not have anything between bed & frame.
I think the only ones that did were flare sides, on 80's anyway, between bed rails and frame and they were wood blocks.
If you dont need to space the bed for body lines and wanted to put something between frame & bed old bike tube would work.
I did not use anything on mt 81 F100 and I dont get any noise.
