To measure the bolt length always measure from the bottom of the head to the end of bolt. Most metric if they are graded will have 8.8 10.9 on the head grade type 5 and 8 respectively. You can buy for next to nothing a bolt gauge that has metric and sae dia on it. I used to give them away when I sold fasteners. .

well i got the front seat jacked up and i must say its a pleasure to see the hood while driving.
the truck i'm coming from is an '88 silverado. they made them smaller back then.
