Sirius 'haunting'. Annoying ad FOREVER!

I love my truck, but it seems Ford and Sirius have conspired to remind me for the rest of my days that I don't have Sirius. Ford 'tech' help confirms there is no way to remove the 3 Sirius selections from Sync 3! Worst is that the annoying ad when stepping through audio selections will pop up when you get to Sirius and you MUST cancel on the touch screen. Very distracting.

Sirius NO-DELETE available.

That kind of sucks, I'll be canceling my subscription when it expires. I was hoping it would be like my other car where the radio only plays channel 184. Maybe you could try setting the station to the free preview channel?

Doubt it, as soon as it hits the first Sirius page..... message is there. You can OK through those 3 screens and get to other options, just can't see the screens underneath. It knows you deserted them and apparently will not stop reminding you.

Ford is surely a co-conspirator, it would be very easy to let you customize the selections. For example it knows when my iPhone is plugged into the USB port and it is different than what is on Bluetooth, even though the same device.
I thought it was very well designed and implemented system, till NOW!

The guy at Ford said it's unknown when they will release an update for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the 2016's. Was supposed to be late 2016. The only thing I want that for is maps on screen. (only Apple's for iPhone, Google Maps for Android).

If you slip one of the techs a Benjamin possibly.

FORscan is free + a $70 OBD Bluetooth connector and you can remove the Sirius and change a whole host of module parameters yourself.

Understood, I am just getting started with Forscan, but my question may be for a Ford tech on here-is there any reason the dealer wouldn't delete the option upon request? As the owner, do we somehow give up this kind of control to Ford?

All good questions that I can't answer, but only speculate. However, Forscan does do a lot of stuff that would otherwise get a blank stare from the dealer.

If Forscan allows you to disable / remove Sirius, I will be all over it like white on rice...
So far, all my attempts to remove Sirius have been like trying to get rid of herpes!!!!!

I seriously HATE Sirius!!!!!

Buy a "NEW" car or truck with Sirius in it and tell us how that works for you...
Until you register Sirius, the radio in my 2015 F350, 2013 Mustang and the wife's Focus would not work without having to do the Mexican Hat-Dance around the screens...

They get away with that crapola because Sirius subsidizes the cost of the radio, so their only way to recoup those costs is to get you to sign up. I hate when they do this because now the government has to get involved with some sort of regulations and negotiations to get it's frequency reduced.

Is it even possible to reset it as if you never used Sirius?
