Hi all, I’ve been wanting to redo my vacuum system since it seems almost every time I go to work on it a vacuum like winds up crumbling apart and want to replace the coffee can vacuum canister but haven’t been able to find anything online for it. I find them in junk yards but they got pin holes in them. Anyone got any fixes or known places where I can get a new one? Thanks.
My vacuum canister developed rust holes as well. Instead of trying to find a replacement, I just put check valves in the related vacuum lines. Everything seems to function correctly since then.

I need to completely replace mine, I was leaning on the plenum and cracked the two red lines that connect to the top of the plenum and it broke into like 3 pieces so I’m going with silicone replacements.
They are the same size as a tomato juice can or some other juices. I bought a can of tomato juice, punched a hole in the center of the top and drained it out and then used a hole saw to cut the hole needed for the fitting from the old can. Since the old can is junk, just start cutting it up until you can get close enough to get the top panel off. The fitting is held in place with a separate ring of plastic on the back side you will carefully need to pry apart. Then it is a matter of painting the can and putting it all back together. If you end up not getting the inside ring off in one piece, you can just silicone the fitting in place. When you are finished it looks like factory!
My can was fine, the check valve inside on the other hand, gave up the ghost, I got the little softball, instead, and as the man falling out the 10 story window said going by each floor, so far, so good.
