53 F100 start button

I have rewired my 53 using stock ignition with start button. I have a neutral switch wired in. But without ignition key on, there is still power to the start button and will try to start the engine. I thought I tested that after installing my floor shifter and hooking the neutral switch up and there was no power to the button. What could have changed or do I have something hooked up wrong?

Your power wire to the solenoid should go thru the start button, to the neutral safety switch then from the neutral safety switch to the ignition switch.

It sounds like it is on the "AM" side of the switch, not the "RAD/GA" side of the switch.

"AM" = (Ammeter) Incoming power source
"COIL" = Switched power to ignition system
"RAD/GA" = (Radio/Gauges) Switched power to everything else
