2016 exhaust brake fault

2016 F450 pickup (440hp), 104k. Has had this issue since new and have read threads talking about it for the 15-16MY. Whenever the exhaust brake is use for any extended time towing it throws an overboost code. Forgive me for not having the P code as it always gets cleared and the exhaust brake is no longer used just so it doesn't trip. When it happens the truck goes into reduced engine power and the code clears in 3-4 key cycles and back to normal. The threads I have read point to a dealer reflash that slightly detunes the exhaust brake. That isn't going to happen due to recent weight loss surgery.

That being said, has anyone gotten around this issue? The turbo has to come out for a pedestal leak soon. Figure while it is out I'll try to address the issue. So far my plan is to swap out the stock 13blade turbine wheel for a 10blade wheel. Hoping this can help ease up on the exhaust back pressure when in operation. Any other ideas? Sensors, actuator, etc???

Thanks!

Went with the Stainless Diesel 10 blade drop-in turbine wheel. Hoping it helps with the exhaust brake issue somehow. It will also get rid of the annoying high pitch squeal the 15-16 trucks have at idle-1600rpm.

Since I am going to be into the turbo I had to decide on a compressor wheel. After looking at the research and Dyno graphs KC Turbos has provided, I decided to keep the stock compressor wheel.
