Good deals on ordering 22s right now, thinking about it but not sure about rear end. I'm in Michigan and used to tow a heavy rv but those days are over for me now so trying to figure out if I really need a locking diff just because of snow. I do pull a small boat but slippery ramps aren't a concern. Any Ideas?
I love the locking differential on my F350 and my wife has it on her 2021 F150. Why do I like it? There are times in the snow in town, or if I am out in the country in a little bit of mud or sand and I am stopped, I need a little bit of extra traction to both wheels to get moving. I don't need 4 wheel drive in these situations, just a little traction to get moving or through what I am in.
It kicks the diff lock out at 20 mph so it is not something you are going to drive around in with it on. It comes in handy for me at times.
I thought you had to pull the **** out for the locker to engage isn't that how it works?
On the latest gen trucks, you actually push the center of the button where as the previous gen trucks you pulled the outer ring of the 4x4 **** to engage the locker. It will automatically disengage above 20mph. For the cost, its worth getting the e-locker even if you only use it a few times.
I have the locker on my new F150, glad I ordered it.Always wanted one.
But I have gotten by fine without it on my old Ranger and superduty, both were 4x4. I live in an area that gets some snow and I hunt so it was a no brainer.
Thanks for the replies, decided to add the e-locker but was also told by the dealer he couldn't get the towing for lack of getting parts before the end of the 2022 build.
