42K miles and no problems until now. Check engine light came on so I took it to my trusted mechanic to do the diagnosis. Came back with two codes; P20E9-00 & P208B-00.

He said he doesn't have the tools or knowledge to work on it so I should take it to the dealer.

They checked it and sail the Harness and the pump are corroded and there is a TSB that says if the harness is corroded to replace the tank also. 3K+ for the repair.

Unlike the 6.7L the 3.0 liter DEF system is only included in the 3 yr 36K warranty.

I say the system didn't get that corroded in the past 6K miles that it must have been corroding prior to the warranty expiring.
Of course the dealer said contact Ford so I contacted the Customer care and they said it is up to the dealer to get me assistance for the repair or I could buy the extended warranty but I have to get the repair done first. ( Yeah, that is not an option).

Anyone know who else to contact to try to get it covered under warranty?

 

My truck is on a tow truck as it went into def fault.
depending what the dealer says, i might do a complete delete on it
im not interested in having this issue again, but i love the motor…

 

Turns out the issue was someone put gasoline in the def fill.
Car insurance covers it under vandalism.
I think a program delete if it ever happens again. Took forever to get the parts in.
