So my truck was hesitating the other day so I figured that there was a coil problem... well I got it there and they said that It ended up being a wiring harness that was rubbing on something and eventually shorted out one of my coils. Fine. now here's my question... I bought the truck used with 37k on it (its an '05) in february. I bought the 1800 buck extended warranty for 4 years and the dealership is telling me that this wouldnt be covered in my warranty???
Need some advise please.
Is your extended warranty a Ford ESP warranty? According to the folks over at Ford ESP it's up to the dealer as to whether something should be covered (that's what ESP told me when I called them on a separate issue).
I'd say try another dealer if your dealer won't provide coverage. Although they might be counting this issue as "normal wear and tear".
yes its a ford warranty... and I kinda wish I would have done my research because I paid 1800 bucks for the warranty and on fords website I cant find one more than 840... equivalent to what I have of course. I sell Floors and the owner wants a new one so Im hoping she will make something happen tomorrow....
But whats not "normal wear and tear" I bought the extra warranty aswell but I'm thinking I shouldn't have. I would think your problem should be covered unless you installed something that changed the location of the wiring then it would be your problem.
Well I talked them into covering it with the warranty.... so I went and paid my 200 bucks. all seems well but Im just waiting to see... Bridge does your edge make better mpg on 45 or are we just screwed? I actually have been taking 528 to Missouri City cause its a relaxing drive in the evening
I think it would if I kept my foot off it, but the exhaust sounds so good and performance is so much better that I get on it waaay to often. But, my mileage is holding at pre-modification levels of around 12.5 to 13 mixed and 16-17 hwy. However, at $3.60+ for the 93 Octane, we're screwed...like the Rockets
yeah theres a poll on here where people are getting 380+ to a tank(30 Gal)... I have yet to see 330... some day maybe since Im not going to be 80% highway...
