First - Prior to a 1,000 mile road trip I wanted to ensure the tires on the 450 were at 110 psi. Could not get to the rear inners without pulling the outer tire. Couldn’t even get my hand in between to pull the cap off the stem. How is everyone doing this?
Second - Once I pulled the wheel covers I found this. Is this covered under warranty or due to my own negligence? Both rears look like this.
Most guys will run an air-through cap on the inside wheel valve stem, or no cap at all, end then use a dual-foot air chuck to be able to get to the inner and outer valve stems.
As to the wheel condition, are you speaking of the rusty looking crud?
You need to pull the cap off when washing the wheels so you clean that crud off when the truck gets washed.
