Hey guys I currently have an extended cab long bed truck with a 351/e4od. I found a single cab short bed truck with a blown engine that I would like to swap the drive train (engine, transmission, rear, harness etc) from my truck. I've been searching and have found numerous different weights for both trucks. Can anyone point me in the direction to try to get some clarity? Thank you very much
93 super cab long bed, 94 reg. cab short bed
still no help, heres why
ex: 93 f350 super cab long bed 4x4 dually curb weight=5,826lbs
ex. 94 f150 regular cab short bed 4x2 curb weight=4,030lbs

Mine is 1993 f150 extended cab long bed. 2wd. 351/e4od
The other is a 1994 f150 single cab short bed 2wd that will get the 351/e4od from my 1993.
I'm very new to the Ford scene. If there is any more info I need to give please let me know. Thanks for your patience
There is about 300-400lbs difference, 4500lbs for the reg cab and 4800lbs for the extended cab.
Thank you. I was thinking it would have been more than that. I like the rcsb trucks better. I was hoping that the "lighter" truck would be more efficient. Ie gas mileage, not working as hard etc. But I doubt that 3-400 pounds would make that much of a difference. You agree? Thanks for the input
What are you currently getting for mpg? Depending on what you do with the truck, regearing may provide better economy.
Haven't calculated (need to) buts its bad. You are 100 percent correct. I have 355 gears now and 31 inch tall tires. I know 410 would help alot. And I will re gear after swapping if I stick with the f150 rcsb. This truck I have is just in very rough shape cosmetically. Still not sure why my dad put so much money Into it. I'm also considering a possible ranger swap (asked that in a separate question)
But I doubt that 3-400 pounds would make that much of a difference. You agree?
Yes, with the same powertrain there won't be any difference in fuel consumption worth talking about so don't go head with this project for that reason. Really when it comes to trucks there aren't any hugh gains to be had, even a short wheelbase ecoboost doesn't produce much better than high teens city.

Thanks for the input. I definitely wouldn't do it for that reason but was hoping for that to be a bonus. I just prefer a smaller truck. Appreciate your input
