Dana 60 front does not have a drain plug, purchase a gasket heck of a lot easier. And lock your hubs and drive on the interstate a while before you change the front diff fluid to help it drain and make easier to wipe out all the gook in the bottom of the pumpkin.
Just curious why you wouldn’t just go back with Motorcraft? I’m not judging here… I’m asking. This is my first go around with any of this stuff and I just figured I’d stay with Motorcraft. Is the stuff your asking about less expensive? Better quality? Is it on the approved list from Ford?
After seeing how easy it would be for just a drain and re-fill I’m thinking about doing it in the next couple of weeks when I do my oil change and tire rotation.
Simple answer is I have always preferred to run Valvoline products. It is very price competitive for more frequent changes as well, at about $15 a quart.
