Rear Fluid Change
So my limited slip sometimes works on my truck and i am wondering if it would help if i changed the rear fluid. The truck has 150000 miles on it and i realize that it is overdue on the fluid change. Is there any additives to improve the limited slip. Thanks for any help

Carl, I'm not really sure that Ford even suggests that the Diff fluid is changed. I would think that perhaps the best attack would be remove the cover
(Note: No drain plug) then clean everything inside well looking for signs of clutch failure. Worn clutches are my first guess. There is special fluid that goes into the limited slip diff.

If the LS clutches are worn out, sounds like they are, changing the fluid may help. It will eventually need clutches though. Just don't add the friction modifier or use fluid that contains it. ie. 75w140 synthetic. The friction modifier makes the fluid a little more slippery, making the clutches quieter in sharp turns. It also reduces wear.
