Is there a map light or second dome light that goes beside the drivers head in a 73 F350 Ranger XLT?
Does anyone know the part number or have a picture of what I am missing?
thank you
If you want to make it so that your cargo light comes on without turning on the dome light with it, simply remove the terminal with two black-with-blue-stripe wires, from that connector hanging out of that hole. Those two wires go to one terminal, so it's really like removing one wire. Then tape up real good, or heat-shrink, the terminal and exposed wire strands, and put it all back together. That pair of wires takes power from the cargo light switch and sends it to the dome light. And I believe that you don't want to cut those black/blue wires, or the dome light won't work at all - until you reconnect them.
The dome light will continue to work normally with the doors and the headlight switch, and the cargo light will turn on via its switch, but with no dome light.
X2 you need a back of the cab, bed light switch. 73 probably has the (lower one in the bottom pic) glass/metal frame set up. The plastic/plastic set up it a 78/79. one.
