Trans issues
Hi all,
My 95 F-250 auto trans started giving me issues. Started out stalling in reverse which quickly lead to stalling while at low speed. Now the truck won’t shift into gear at all. I read that I should check the oil and filter, also the Neutral Safety switch (probably try replacing that today). Any ideas, or tips on where else to start?

Check fluid warm,idling in Park.
Look color of the fluid and sniff If it smells burnt.
Pull codes.
If OD light is blinking, there's codes.
Throwing parts blind is bad idea,especially in tranny issues.
General readers doesn't communicate with these vehicles.
OBD reader(BAFX or OBDlink) and ForScan App,for example.

The neutral Safety Switch (really called the TRS - Transmission Range Sensor) cannot cause these problems. Changing it will not fix this.

OR, the filter gasket from the last filter change was left in there preventing the new filter from seating all the way in.
