wheel width
I'm looking for a set of factory stock 15" steel wheels that I can put back on my 67 f100, and run my factory poverty caps. The question I have is. Does anyone know what the width is of the factory wheels from the 60s and 70s, and is that an outside measurement or an inside measurement? I know I can buy 15x8 from wheel vintiques, but does 1" make that much of a difference? I'm trying to figure what size tires I can run.

Are they all the same in the 70s or did they make them wider?

I would expect the '70s might have moved to 6 inch, with 15x7s showing up in some trims or options--full size Broncos iirc.
What size tire are you thinking of?
Exploders came with a 15x7 wheel using a 235-75x15 tire, so IMO 15x7 would be the minimum I would go with.
If you are going with the bigger tires, 8" would be better for 31-10.50s which is about the biggest thing that will fit without lifting or trimming.
