Question Regarding Wheel Offsets
Trying to install a bigger rim. Local shops aren't much help so.
1973 F100
2WD
Currently has 275/60R15 Tires. From what I understand, these trucks came with 215/75R15's from the factory.
I would like to install a set of 20" wheels.
The wheels I'm looking at have a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern and a +25 mm offset.
My 2 questions are:
If I buy the wheels above, which tire size would I have to get to make them fit? I believe it would be a 245/45R20, but I'm not 100%.
Where does the wheel offset come into play?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jake

So your current 275/60's measure out to a 28x10.5
The 245/45's measure out to a 29x9.5
I'm not sure how the offset will effect your clearance however. I guess that all depends on the offset of your current wheels...

I had a 68 f100 that was lowered 3inch in the front. I ran 18x9 +18 offset with 255/55-18. The largest u might fit would be a 275/45-20 with that offset. I would see if the tire shop wouldnt mind test fitting one for u.
