While you guys are into slight alterations for appearance, as well as a tail light, I'd like to find a nice mirror assembly for both sides that actually allow you to see without costing $400 bux a pair. Mine came with a single rectangular painted one on the drivers side that looks like the '68 version which would be fine if affordable, but I'd rather have Stainless. This will be my daily and I tow a trailer so I really nee a pair.
I think I'm also going to move the spare to the front middle of the bed, it's in the way where they mounted it. I was thinking of making a swing up bracket so if I need the full bed I could swing it up and pin it, normally it would sit touching the floor.
I'm staying reletively stock with the Pup, any driveline mods I do will be period correct, going to stay 6 cyl, I have a 200 to swap in for a little extra power and I'm going for a 4 speed on the column. And some interior mods, real seat for the passenger, the missing gauges ,(Oil pressure and Volt meter) and a tach, some kind of sound system, and A/C. Last few days I've been designing a drop down for the bottom of the dash to hold the gauges, stereo and A/C louvers.
I decided to go with a Console panel in front of the engine box. I built this yesterday, I ordered some gauges from Speed Hut to match the
65 Ford Tach. Should be here in a couple of weeks.
i added 4 more gauges to it, it will have the Tack, an Oil Pressure, water temp, volt meter, fuel gauge, clock and an air temp gauge for under the hood to help me diagnosing the vapor lock issue we seem to have with these things.
put it in place to see how it will look. Also I should be done painting the '65 Falcon on Tuesday so the E-Pup will go on the rotisserie for it's RESTORE. Going to replace rockers, wheel wells, rear corners and valance. ALso going to install '65 Mustang buckets, and do some modifications to the cooling issues that plaque us all.
I just scored a pair of 1/4" thick good stainless steel bumperettes off an old ambulance that fit perfectly on the front of the E-Pup allowing total exposure of the grill.
My custom gauges showed up, I have the oil, temp, volt and fuel gauge, and I added a clock and an air temp gauge for under the hood to monitor the results of my under hood fan setup I'll be installing. maybe solve that boiling gas issue many of us have.
Oh and I bought some parts for a couple of upgrades. I bought a fuel tank from West Marine that is 19 gallons, 10x10x47 that fits up under the bed on either side behind the rocker panel. I am going to eliminate the rear stock tank for now. If I like this setup I may add another to the other side and have 38 gallons onboard.
I also bought a small diameter brake booster and a Wilwood remote reservoir dual master that will mount under the floor behind the drivers seat with the reservoirs in the cab behind the seat. I'll gut the original master and use it for the pedal mount and run the brake rod threw it to the booster/master. It'll be a straight shot. All the parts are here and I mocked it up, looks like it'll work.
Well, I've been sick since a week ago saturday so progress hasn't been great. I've been working on sheetmetal as much as I can, trying to fit the '53 F1 cab corners to the rear corners on the E-pup and fabricate a new valance pan between them, I also have to incorporate a receiver hitch and a bumper that is still undetermined.
I did some finish work on the console and wired it on the days I felt like crap, that all came up pretty good I think.

Any ideas on mods??
This was my solution for adding gauges and a head unit with a flip up screen.
I was thinking about the flip up screen, but I bought a Z-fold for a cell phone and it opens to a 5x6 screen so I think I'll just use the phone holder for GPS. Did you make the dash skirt, or is that a factory unit?
Got her back on the road about a week ago for shakedown Cruises. Didn't go as originally planned, but did a few upgrades, did the custom front bumper to allow for better air flow, put the temp sensor in the engine compartment and a couple of small fans to assist with the under hood heat. Put the original front bumper on the rear and built a receiver hitch, back up flood lights hidden under the hitch, strobes front and rear, headers and dual exhaust. I also dropped the center aluminum piece front the side SS trim. ANd added the console I built with the gauges, stereo, speakers and AC louvers. She's got the 14's in the front and `15's in the rear with air shocks. 19 gallon fuel tank with side fill and vent.
Runs and drives great sofar.
Update; I drove it daily for a few weeks, the only issue I had was my brand new Tach was jumpy as hell, but she ran fine so I figured the tach was a POS. So I drove her to a car show in Marshfield, took her up 3A, 40mph single lane road about 35 miles total. She ran nicely for 32 miles then started breaking down like she was losing spark, so I milked it to the fairgrounds. After the show I drove her back home and she ran fine all the way, we did stop halfway for lunch though so it was only about 2 15 mile runs. When I got home I swapped out the condenser with a new bluepoint unit, It's the 4th one I have have put in it since I put it on the road a year and a half ago. When I put it in the tach got very steady, not 100%, but much better than it has since I put her back on the road a month or so ago. So I'm guessing the condenser was NG from the start. So I checked it all out, put in a new set of points, and swapped out the coil for a new one, and the tach still had a glitch, would be smooth for awhile then hickup a few times, so I gave up and bought a pertronix igniter 2 and a flame thrower coil. She now has a bit more power, runs 100% smooth, and the tach is perfect, no glitches. So she's back to being my daily driver. I did order another Pertronix and a coil to put behind the seat, I'm having serious trust issues with parts lately.
I added some tie down strips to the bed, they work nicely. Only issue I have with what I've done so far is my gas tank filler neck and vent. I need to figure out why the auto shutoff gas pumps wont stop quick enough and she spits gas out when it kicks off. there are a couple of things I want to change however.
#1)I don't like the console I made, got too cluttered in the cab, liked it better when it was a walk threw, so I'm leaning towards a drop down dash extension skirt for the gauges and maybe mounting the switches on the hood lid. #2) I need to do something about the single speed wipers, haven't put a lot of thought into it yet, but I'll figure something out. Oh and I need to build a tailgate.
