Bought neighbors 99 7.3 not a spec of oil underneath. Needs more HP. What is a good tuner and how many HP should I add? Have a couple 6.7s, I know it wont compare. Nothing stupid, using as a feed truck.
Need more information. What mods are on it? Is it all stock? The standard right now is the HYDRA chip. They have a library of standard tunes that'll probably work well.
If you need custom tunes the current favorite appears to be AA tuning (you can google them, or get them through bitterroot diesel). I'm just now in talks with them, but Andrew is pretty responsive and seems fair so far.
If I may... Why not just leave the truck with stock tuning since it is going to be used as a feed truck and you have a couple of 6.7L's for the heavy lifting? Stock/OEM tuning is slow, but reliable and rock solid.
With the Hydra, you should really consider an EGT gauge.
I have used the new method at least once (maybe twice) helping local 7.3L friends install a Hydra chip. It is a much more secure and reliable method of installing the chip.
If the truck is OEM the up pipes are gonna be shot, and the loss of turbo drive pressure will contribute to high EGTs and low power. Bellowed uppies are the cure.
Not that you want more work but might be worth it.

Sous is the ribbon cable now old school? Just bought a Hydra from Bitterroot and it came with the ribbon cable
