I think I heard on this forum already but want to confirm that... The ebps does not affect gas mileage when you deleted the ebpv?

Clint from custom works states in one of his videos that the ebps can affect fuel delivery to the motor regardless of the state of you ebpv. This guy seems very knowledgeable in the 7.3 platform.

Just looking for another possible reason I'm only getting 11-12 miles per gallon?

EBPS if too high, PCM will defuel and you will mash pedal to make up for it and there is the fuel delivery issue

Also affect shifts in an auto, too low of RPMs and you lug the engine making for worse MPG

NO EBPV can affect warm up in below freezing climates or make it run too cool which decreases efficiency of fuel burn

So if I have a ebps code, then replacement could solve my terrible gas mileage, correct?

Thanks for the response

Gosh, as you are aware, that’s remarkably poor. I was recently getting 14-15mpg with a pretty aggressive fuel leak and 285x75R16 tires.

I know when I changed my EBPS I needed a new line too, it was 100% clogged no amount of cleaning could get the garbage out. I tried the carb cleaner and weed eater line deal. I have heard conflicting theory on the EBPS and manual transmission. I don't really care. Replaced the sensor and the line and wont worry about it for 15 years. Just throwing that out there.

Well actually I cleaned the line about a year and half ago with an aircraft cable on the end of a drill. I was a real pain. But the sensor can still be bad. I will check it out and see. $100 dollar sensor is worth it if it cures my mileage issue but would rather not spend the cash if it doesn't.

Just didn't want you ordering a sensor to find you also needed the line. I just did that with Bronco graveyard. Ordered O-rings and then found out the next day I needed some bolts. Ate shipping twice.

if you get the EBPS tube off, re use the fittings and flare up some brake line for 10 bucks.

Took me 15 minutes to cut, bend and flare vs the 2 hours of try to clean the tube that been there who know how long with carbon build up

Can you delete this tube? Or is there a bypass?

Is your truck auto or manual?
IIRC I think I read that the ebps is used on autos for fueling and shifting strategies I may be wrong, maybe Cleatus12r can chime in and give his thoughts on it.
