I have a 1997 PSD and I turned the truck on one day and the truck started fine and the n started shuttering a knocking and the ( check engine ) light came on. It sounded like the turbo, but I am not shure. I am in need of getting my truck running.
We need a little more information. Did you notice anything else while it was running? Was there a lot of smoke coming out the tailpipe? If so, it could be that you've blown an injector O-ring. Sounds terrible, but not really too hard to repair.
I started the truck again and it runs fine for about 10 seconds and then runs ruff and loud. There is no more smoke than usual when it starts. I revved the truck up and stayed at 1200 rpm for a bit and let it idle again and the engine ran fine but the (engine light ) stayed on. ???
Is this still an injector o-ring? if so how do I find out wich one?
I also plugged the truck in over night, would this make a difference?
I've had some problems with injector O-rings in the recent past, so I thought from your original post that you might be as well. From your second post, it doesn't sound like O-rings to me after all. I'd try to get your codes read to see what's going on.
Seeing that you live in Vancouver, I'll tell you that I know of a very reputable shop up there, if you don't already have one. Email me if you need to have more info. Quadzilla95@hotmail.com
