Guess what? The carpet does not go all the way back to the back wall. It stops about 4" from the back wall. There is some sound insulation material; kind of a semi-soft kind of material with insulation on the back, and some harder blackish material on the front.. I was able to peel that up a few inches and peak in there, but there are no vents, and certainly no evidence of any mouse intrusion (either side). Is it possible there are vents somewhere else?
look for the black plastic insert shown in the bottom right corner. There is more than one of those along the back of the cab, recommend checking all the way across. This is a 2017 XLT Supercrew so yours should be identical except for the subwoofer
So how many years have manufactures been building cars and trucks? And you tell me they still have not figured out how to keep a mouse out of a vehicle? Goes to show you modern computer design is no better than the old school method. Just crazy. I'm wondering how much any of the big manufactures would pay me to fix that problem? Oh and really no engineering degree required to out think a mouse.
