2017 F150, 4 door, 5.0L 2WD
I purchased a used F150 and there is a vibration at 47 to 52 MPH. then it goes away. It gets more pronounced when towing.
The front end has no issues, tires are all good and balanced.
U Joints appear to be good, no movement or clunking.
(never had this issue with my 02 F150 with 380K on it)
I saw some posts from a long time ago mentioning rear drive shaft out of balance or pinion out of alignment?
What brand and size of tires do you have? You may want to take them somewhere else to have the balance checked. Even then, if there is radial pull or a belt separating, a balance won't cure that. FWIW, Discount tire doesn't do a good balancing job as their machines are calibrated for speed, not accuracy.
I agree, I'd probably have them 'road force' balanced. Costs a bit more, they will figure it out. I once bought new Firestone Destination tires, took 9 tires to get 4 good ones.
