I went through this a couple years ago and it was a mostly fruitless effort. My truck had period mats from the early 80s when I got it in 2019 but as soon as I started using the truck they crumbled to pieces.
Once I finally gave up on finding a retro correct mat, I starting looking for something plain that was wide enough for the big floor pans in these trucks and that was another challenge. I could not find any that filled the driver side from the trans hump to the door threshold. I called 3 or 4 big manufacturers to get dimensions of their widest mat as usually dimensions are not included in listings. I ended up "settling" on LMCs heavy duty 20-1/2" wide mats which still aren't wide enough for the driver side but I am happy with them other than that. I was looking for a 24" wide mat and at the time I was not able to find anything wider than the 20-1/2". That's not to say they don't exist, but I couldn't find them. Those old mats that were in the truck were wide enough to cover the full floor area.
Most of the true vintage correct ones are ugly and or stupid. like the " keep on truck'in " or " 10-4 " ones everyone had.
ACC makes all the carpet you can buy for these pickups and they also make mats out of the same material. not really old school cool or anything but not much doubt they look the best.
